The Scioto County Veterans Service Office, located in the Scioto County Courthouse Annex, knows exactly what it’s like dealing with life after serving in the United States Military. The Veterans Service Commission

The Veterans Service Commission was established to assist Veterans and immediate family members with proper aid when dealing with The Veterans Administration. Assistance is available for Veterans, family members, and eligible survivors when applying for benefits and compensation from the VA. The services include preparation of forms or paperwork, documentation of claims, proper submission of claims and paperwork, along with transportation to VA hospitals. These claims may include: compensation, pension, and educational benefits with an emphasis on Veteran Compensation and Widow benefits. Each of the 88 counties in Ohio has a board of appointed Commissioners who implement the program for their respective counties.

Eligibility Requirements For Benefits

According to State Law, individuals applying for benefits must meet the following:

Served in a branch of The United States Military and received an honorable discharge or a widow of an honorably discharged Veteran
